01 / The game
A VR diving experience inside a shark cage.
The Cage VR Experience places the player inside an underwater diving cage as a shark circles nearby. What begins as a diving trip becomes a tense encounter as the shark approaches and attacks the cage.
The cage separates the player from the shark, but it is vulnerable to damage. Movement and spatial audio help the player locate the threat, while changing attack targets keep its next approach uncertain.

03 / My contribution
My work on shark movement and attacks.
I developed the shark movement and attack system as a game designer and programmer. The design challenge was to help players locate the shark around the cage while preserving the uncertainty of its next attack.
04 / System design
From circling to attacking.
I structured the shark behavior around patrol positions surrounding the cage, followed by an attack on a nearby cage column.
Circle the cage
The shark moves between positions around the cage. Spatial audio helps the player locate it beyond their immediate view.
Commit to an attack
The shark stops at a patrol position, then selects a nearby cage column to attack. Varying the target keeps attacks from feeling identical.
Damage the column
The shark approaches the chosen column and starts damaging it. The player faces a threat to the cage that protects them.
Gameplay capture: the shark approaches the cage. The diagram illustrates the behavior sequence; it is not an exact level map.
05 / Playtest & iteration
Testing and tuning the shark encounter.
Across the two-week cycle, we built a playable prototype, gathered interim playtest feedback, and revised the experience. My work centered on repeated tuning of shark behavior and interaction responsiveness.
Design goal
Use movement and spatial audio to give players a readable threat before contact.
Iteration focus
Balance that information with tension as the shark circles, pauses, and attacks.
